Badoo is a social network founded in 2006 by Russian
entrepreneur Andrey Andreev. The company, headquartered in Soho, London, is
owned by a company based in Cyprus. In September 2011, the British magazine
published an article explaining Economist1 great opportunity for Badoo to
become "one of the leading Internet companies in Europe" due to the
discovery of a new and large market share. Badoo is a social network that
allows meeting new people through the Internet.
In May 2012, the company announced it had reached 150
million registered users worldwide. The portal operates in 180 countries and is
most active in Latin America, Spain, Italy and France. Badoo is ranked 52 of
the most popular web site in France and 117 globally, according to Alexa
Internet.2 In July 2011, Badoo.com was ranked 59 of the most visited websites
in the world, with 46 million monthly unique visitors, ahead of CNN.com
(position 60). Badoo is growing at a fast pace: 150,000 new people register on
the web every day.

Jessica Powell is the director of business development
for the company. Powell has over a decade of experience in the digital
industry, having held various executive positions in Europe, and the United
States and Asia. Before joining Badoo was Director of Communications and Public
Affairs at Google, responsible for the strategy of internal and external
communication of the company in the area of Asia and the Pacific.
The principal business of the company is Andrew Parker.
Parker is responsible for managing all financial, legal and administrative
aspects of Badoo. His career path has gone through companies like
PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sony or V2 Music Group.
Among the new additions to the team is Benjaming Ling
Badoo, exejecutivo of Google, such as Google COO. From his position of Chief
Operating Officer, Ling will oversee product development, engineering, business
and corporate development, as well as alianzas.3
